Eems Asia Makes Its Foray Into China
EEMS Pte Ltd ("EEMS Asia") today announced that it has received approval from the Chinese government to operate a new assembly and test facility in Suzhou Industrial Park in China. This enables EEMS to cater to and capture the expanding markets across the region, especially in China where memory-based assembly and test requirements continue to intensify.The new facility, which is estimated to begin operations the third (3rd) quarter of 2005, will occupy 140,000 square feet. In addition, the Suzhou factory will complement its parent company – EEMS Italia S.p.A – to become a true one-stop-shop provider of assembly and test of DRAM and Flash memory semiconductor devices, modules and cards. "Suzhou Industrial Park is the ideal location for us due to several key factors unmatched in other regions: the availability of qualified employees; as well as the well-developed technology and excellent logistics facilities," said EEMS CEO, Mr. Albert Ng. "More importantly, this new facility will spearhead our growth momentum in China, which further demonstrates our long-term commitment to Asia," Mr. Ng commented. With a paid up capital of US$50 million, EEMS will be concentrating their memory and module assembly and test activities in China whilst maintaining their
mixed signal test and research and development activities in Singapore.
