Portable Buildings Donated To South Asia Tsunami Relief California based Global Portable Buildings, Inc. is offering to donate ten (10) of its portable multi-purpose steel buildings to international aid agencies for immediate repositioning to the Tsunami disaster regions of South Asia. The buildings are perfectly suited for temporary housing, offices, medical exam rooms, relief worker accommodations, and many other durable shelter requirements. There is virtually no construction required, and set-up is quick and easy. Each building can be transported by container chassis, flat-bed truck, fork lift or helicopter, and they can be stacked up to eight units high on a container ship.Company President Charles Bradley states, "I don't see how we can stand by and not attempt to help. The most immediate action we can take is to have ready 10 of our new buildings for one or more of the major aid agencies now, at no cost to them other than transportation to the region. We will stand ready to work with any international agency or government over the long term, to provide durable, instant shelter at substantially reduced costs. All of us at Global Portable Buildings wish to express our sincere thoughts and hopes for all those individuals and countries affected by this terrible tragedy, and are committed to helping as best we can."Global Portable Buildings is also making available the balance of its current California based inventory of approximately forty (40) 8 ft. x 20 ft. and ten (10) 8 ft. x 40 ft. portable buildings at substantially reduced prices. One immediate benefit to the South relief effort is the potential to load the buildings prior to shipping with supplies such as clothing, linens & bedding, medicine, first aid items and any other soft-boxed goods that are needed. This
is a highly efficient way to transport essential supplies in combination with portable shelter that may be required over an extended period of reconstruction and relocation.Currently located in Santa Rosa, California, all the buildings are brand new and available from existing inventory. They are located approximately 60 miles from key shipping facilities at the Port of Oakland, California, and approximately 40 miles from Travis AFB near Sacramento, California. Each self-contained, fully insulated building comes with the following standard features:• Finished interiors with paneled walls and floors using natural wood compounds.• On-board solar power supply providing lighting and 12vDC power.• Pre-wired for 110/220vAC power and telephone line.• Large, heavy duty double-glazed glass windows with stainless steel screens and steel security covers.• Some buildings available with small kitchenette and bathroom with shower, sink & vanity, and either SeaLand Vacuflush or environmental composting toilets. Global Portable Buildings will begin a new production run at its overseas manufacturing facility in approximately 45 Days, and has the ability to redirect this inventory to the affected areas. Production capabilities can scale up to 1,000's of units per month as needed."Our portable housing and shelter solutions are perfectly suited for just this type of disaster response" says Tom Johnson, Vice President. "We are uniquely positioned with multiple manufacturing facilities in that can rapidly boost production. Because those facilities are located very close to the affected regions, it allows for the buildings to be re-positioned quickly upon completion. We're talking shipping times in days instead of weeks.".
